December 20, 2020
We have received updated guidelines from the BC Ministry of Health for offering low intensity in-person classes so we are opening for a partial in-person schedule at this time. Please keep in mind that BC/Interior Health recommendations are constantly evolving and we may need to close again or adjust policies at any time. Keeping a consistent schedule is very important to us, but more than ever we need to prioritize everyone’s health and safety, so please continue to check emails and social media for the most up-to-date information. We will continue to provide online classes to ensure everyone has options if they are not comfortable attending in-studio classes at this time or are unable to reserve a spot due to our limited capacity. Although we are taking every recommended precaution, there is always a risk of contracting COVID-19 spending time in any public place with other people, and the decision to attend in-person classes is entirely up to you. Anyone exhibiting symptoms, or refusing to wear a mask or follow distancing rules, will be asked to leave immediately.
Monitor Your Health
We ask that you closely monitor your health and stay home if you are showing any possible symptoms of COVD-19 such as fever or chills, cough, loss of sense of taste or smell, difficulty breathing, sore throat, loss of appetite, extreme fatigue or tiredness, headache, body aches, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea. You are also asked to avoid the studio if you have been identified by Public Health as a close contact of someone with COVID-19, have been told to isolate by Public Health, or if you have traveled outside of Canada in the last 14 days.
Wear A Mask
Masks must be worn at all times inside the facility when not exercising unless exempt from mask requirements. Wearing a mask during exercise is optional.
Online Reservation System
Please reserve classes online in advance to ensure we don’t exceed our social distancing capacity of 8. Access our system online through our website or through the Mindbody App searching for “Move & Flow.” If you have trouble registering please contact us for assistance.
Do your best to only sign up for classes you are sure you will be able to attend and give 24 hours notice if you need to cancel. To ensure everyone has a chance to register for classes we will not allow reservations more than 7 days in advance, and anyone who registers but does not attend class will be charged a $5 fee. We are not anticipating needing to limit how many visits per day/week a member can attend, but if this becomes a problem we will adjust our policies. If you need to cancel at the last minute due to health concerns, please contact us to have the fee waived.
Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before class begins and leave soon after class finishes to allow us time to sanitize the studio between each class and avoid potential additional exposure. We ask that attendees enter one at a time, patiently waiting in cars or a socially distant line outside for their turn to enter, so that everyone can remain at least 2 meters apart. Please sign the waiver as you enter for each class. We will have alcohol-based hand sanitizer available for everyone to use as they arrive and when they are leaving as well as alcohol-based surface cleaner for the washroom for you to use at your discretion. Please come dressed for class as we are not allowed to offer changing room facilities. All of the surfaces are wiped down with sanitizer between each class, including the floor and washrooms.
Updated requirements ask that we keep 2.5 metres apart during classes and 2 metres apart before/after class. Our calculated capacity based on the guidelines is 14 but we will continue to keep everyone generously spaced apart with a capacity of 8 students and 1 instructor. There are squares and dots for each person marked clearly on the floor. Each dot is at least 3 metres apart while the squares are 2 metres with a 2 metre gap between each. Stay in the middle of your square as much as possible, and do your best to move away if someone is needing to walk by your square. If you need to go into the equipment room or washroom, wait until others have left the area to avoid crowding. Minimize use of the washroom when possible. Childminding is temporarily cancelled and we ask that you do not bring any extra people into the studio with you who are not registered for class.
We are not allowing any shared equipment to be used in classes, which means guests will not be able to borrow any of our studio equipment. For Jazzercise classes people may bring equipment from home such as hand weights or a mat or a clean towel to use for any floor work. Don’t forget shoes and water.
For Yoga/Barre classes we ask everyone to bring their own equipment or use a set of studio equipment boxed in our equipment area that only they will use. If people have studio equipment assigned to them it is still property of Move & Flow and must not leave the studio. We have several extra sets that we can loan to new guests of these classes. Because these props aren’t easily sanitized we keep careful track of to make sure there is at least 6 days between uses to avoid any concerns of passing COVID-19.
Thank you for your time and attention. Please let us know if you have any additional questions or feedback. We look forward to seeing you in a class very soon!
